All interns and residents receive:
Vacation and Sick Time
- 28 days of paid vacation per year (8 weekend days and 20 business days)
- 17 days of paid sick leave
Insurance and Retirement
Major medical insurance, dental insurance, and basic life insurance are provided to all housestaff and their dependents (spouse, domestic partner, children).
Supplemental life insurance, disability insurance and a voluntary investment program for retirement savings are available through the University of Washington.
Professional liability insurance is provided for work within the residency program. Student loan deferments are available.

- Reimbursement for USMLE 3 or COMLEX 3 if taken during intern year
- Reimbursement for Medical License (must work with residency to get this)

The UW Medicine Graduate Medical Education Wellness Service provides a comprehensive faculty and staff assistance program that provides professional support for personal and work life issues.
