Evaluation

Overview

We use a robust evaluation and formative feedback system that includes:

• Multisource evaluation, patient satisfaction, and webcam-based observations of patient care in continuity clinic
• Peer evaluations 
• Global evaluations from every rotation
• Clinic performance and access/utilization data about your own clinic panel
• Yearly in-training examinations
• Simulator and standardized patient scenarios for procedures (central line, thoracentesis, intubation, pelvic exams), codes, ‘the dirty dozen’ (common cross-cover problems)

You will meet with your Program Director or Associate Program Director semi-annually to review your evaluations and competency-based progress. If needed, a learning plan will be collaboratively developed during this meeting and followed up at the next semi-annual meeting or earlier as needed.

Guidance in career mentoring (elective selection, fellowship advice, etc.) is available from several hospitalists, generalists, and various subspecialists.
